Main components of an LED Screen

The LED display is mainly composed of 4 elements: LED module, power supply, cabinet, and control system.
We will introduce in this article, LED module, power supply, and case part.

1. LED Module

The LED module is the most important part of the whole full color LED display。
The main components: LED lights, PCB circuit board, driver IC, plastic kit, resistor, capacitor, and other parts.
Each module has its resolution that is measured between the distance between the LEDs, technically called as Pixel Pitch.

2. Power supply (switching power supply)

The power supply generally uses a switching power supply, with 220V-110V input and 5V DC output.
Characteristics of a switching power supply for LED display
1) low power consumption (its own losses), high efficiency;
2) a wide range of voltage regulation (wide voltage input);
3) small size, lightweight
The stability and performance of a good power supply for any LED display determines its proper performance. For different brands, different models of switching power supply, the effective utilization of electrical energy is very different.
The main way to improve the effective utilization of electrical energy is to use the PFC circuit, that is, the switching power supply with PFC function.
Many people in the LED industry recognize MEANWELL as the most suitable LED power supply manufacturer. Its input voltage is generally 220V±10%/110V±10%.

3. LED Display Cabinet

In the market there is a wide variety of designs, sizes and materials for LED screen cabinets, each one has a different function。
A）Die-casting aluminum LED display cabinet: High dimensional accuracy, surface finish, high strength and hardness, and good heat dissipation, lighter weight than metal. So, they are popular in LED rental displays.
B) Sheet metal.
Features: lightweight, high strength, low cost, mass production, electromagnetic shielding
Because of the heavyweight of metal cabinets, they are easy to see in indoor and outdoor screens with fixed installation.
C) Aluminum sheet: is made of pure aluminum or aluminum alloy material through pressure processing (shearing or sawing) to obtain a cross-sectional.
Features: good heat dissipation, high strength, good usability, and strong corrosion resistance.
4) Profile: It is an object with a certain geometric shape made of iron or steel and materials with a certain strength and toughness (such as plastic, aluminum, fiberglass, etc.) through the process of rolling, extrusion, casting, etc.
Features: simple production process, saving time, high production accuracy, no welding, no deformation phenomenon, gorgeous appearance.
